What's new in RealmJoin

RealmJoin ships continuously: portal releases, agent updates and a new runbook release every month. This is a selection of the last months; the complete log lives on the feedback board.

Recent releases

  1. Runbooks v2026.09

    Eight new runbooks, smarter offboarding

Low disk space reports and user notifications, a mobile device list, OneDrive status, SharePoint permissions and storage, and Intune enrollment readiness for one user or in bulk. Permanent offboarding now hands the manager and sponsor roles to a replacement.

  2. Portal

    More accurate usage metering

When a file hash is unknown, runs are now matched to packages by install path. Shared runtimes and background helpers no longer count as someone using an app.

  3. Portal

    Package usage export

Export the last use of a package per device straight from the software report, with an "unused for N days" cutoff and a summary sheet.

  4. Platform

    Azure Automation onboarding, automated

Connecting an Azure Automation account for runbooks takes fewer manual steps, through the RealmJoin-managed multi-tenant app.

  5. Portal

    Instant feedback on app changes

Subscriptions and updates show their progress right away while they make their way into Intune, and tables refresh on their own when something changes.

  6. Platform

    Logs Ingestion API

Audit, operational and runbook logs now go through the DCR-based Logs Ingestion API, ahead of Microsoft retiring the HTTP Data Collector API on 14 September 2026. The portal checks your configuration and guides the migration.

  7. Portal

    MAC address search

Find a device by MAC address and see its network adapters with vendor names.

  8. Customer API

Subscribe store packages through the API

Provision packages from the store by API, through Intune or RealmJoin, with automation, deferral, night window and time zone.

  9. Runbooks v2026.08

    Branded reports and service health

Per-tenant email branding across 28 report runbooks, sign-in event lists, scheduled Microsoft 365 service health monitoring, MFA-secure group sync with admin and break-glass exclusions, and mailbox access for several delegates at once.

  10. Portal

    Update to a specific version

Move a package to exactly the version you need, not only the latest.

  11. Portal

    Compliance on the device page

A compliance tab shows every policy and its state for a device, linked from the places you look first.

  12. Portal v2026.29

    Recovery key rotation

Rotate BitLocker and FileVault recovery keys from the device page once a key has been read out.

  13. Runbooks

    Hybrid Runbook Worker, in preview

Runbooks ending in _hybrid can run on a worker group in your own network. Available on the staging portal.

  14. Runbooks v2026.07

    Excel reports and safer wipes

A dependency-free Excel writer across 19 report runbooks, Global Secure Access app registrations, MAM selective wipe, a Defender status check, Autopilot cleanup, and a wipe that checks the Defender risk score first.

  15. Agent

    Native package runtime

Tenants can switch on the agent's in-process package runtime, which replaces the bundled Chocolatey engine. In beta since agent 4.21.6.

  16. Customer API

    MCP server for AI assistants

Six read-only tools let AI assistants look up devices, software and your tenant, with named tokens you can revoke.

  17. Portal

    Predefined Excel exports

Devices, packages, package restrictions, antivirus, shadow IT and package usage, one click each.
